Patrick Hunter

Hunter has been creating original art pieces for the past decade in Canada. He calls Toronto home for now, but grew up in the north western Ontario gold mining community of Red Lake.

Patrick believes he paints the spirit of the plants, creatures and rocks that are found in nature. "My inspiration comes from where I grew up in the heart of the boreal forest." Hunter also has roots in southern Manitoba as well where his Ojibway reserve of Keeseekoowenin First Nation is located.

His influences come from the originator of the Woodland art style, Norval Morrisseau, the Canadian Group of 7 and Vincent van Gogh.

Hunter holds an advanced diploma in graphic design from Sault College, in Sault Ste. Marie, ON. His works are not just limited to acrylics on canvas, but the self employed artist has also created limited edition prints of his works, adult colouring books as well as a line of clothing that is adorned with his screen printed works.
